CAN I RECOVER IF I AM THE VICTIM OF A HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT?


Yes. Hit and run vehicles and phantom vehicles (without contact) are covered under uninsured motorists coverage. There is usually a requirement in the policy to notify the uninsured motorist carrier within a certain length of time, usually 24 hours.

CAN I RECOVER IF I WAS NOT WEARING MY SEATBELT?


Yes, but your settlement could potentially be reduced.

HOW DO I GET MEDICAL CARE AND LOST WAGES BENEFITS?


(1) Report the accident and your injury or illness immediately to your own automobile insurance company as well as the automobile insurance company of the other driver, regardless of who is at fault.

(2)Treat with a doctor of your choice and give them your PIP information as your primary insurance and your private health insurance or other medical coverage as your secondary insurance to ensure complete coverage and payment of all your medical treatment. If you do have PIP or other medical coverage, many doctors will treat you with a letter of protection.

(3) Benefits due are considered timely if paid within 30 days of insurers’ receipt of bills and application for payment made in writing.
